MONDAY MEDITATION - A PRAYER CIRCLE

"Any time women come together with a collective intention, it's a powerful thing." - Phylicia Rashad

Hello beautiful goddess.

A slightly different blog post from me today, but one I feel very passionately about. I hope you will join me in delving deeper into the collective sisterhood...

If you monitor the news these days, there are some very intense developments occurring around the world right now. It can be easy to get caught up in the fear and paranoia of the unknown and the horrifying images of violence and suffering.

For my Australian and international goddesses living in Western countries, we are so incredibly blessed, it actually takes my breath away at times. I believe that a true wellness journey not only focuses on the relationship with oneself, but also includes moments of reflection for gratitude and awareness. We are, after all, a global community.

My invitation to you today is to join me in a prayer circle. You don't even need to leave your home or office. You can join me right now as you read this... Love always wins over fear. So rather than engage into the space of fear, I would like us to send loving and healing images/thoughts/energy to our sisters unseen and unknown.

I would like to extend a prayer today towards all the women around the world who are suffering due to circumstances beyond their control. The woman forced into an arranged marriage with a man twice her age, who has no say in the matter, or about her future. The woman who doesn't dare walk to find fresh water, a basic human need, for fear of being raped or killed. The woman who holds her dying child in her arms, unable to help them any further, and has to watch silently as they fade away from hunger/bomb wounds/disease. The woman who, as a child, has had her most special and sacred body part desecrated in the name of religion and ignorance. The woman who is forbidden to learn or work, even though her soul and mind cry for stimulation and enrichment. The woman who has lost her home and family through the ravages of needless war. The woman who will never leave her husband although he beats and degrades her daily, due to not wanting to 'shame' her family.

Yes, these concepts are confronting and powerful my love. But for each one, I ask that you imagine this woman in your minds eye. She her, connect with her, imagine where she is from, perhaps even what her name is. Reach out to her and hold her in your minds eye. Imagine both of you being surrounded by white light. You could repeat to yourself the following blessing for compassion and unconditional love: May they be well, may they be happy, may they be free from suffering. Be in this space for around 5 minutes, and feel your prayer connecting to that of your others sisters.

Release any built up energy or feelings with 5 deep, cleansing breaths after completing your prayer. Focus on everything you have in your life right now and feel all the richer and more blessed for it.

Thank you so much for joining me in prayer. I would really love to hear from you in the comments below and know what this brought up for you.

As a global community of women who support/nourish/encourage each other, we are helping to build a better world. This I truly believe.
